During our trip last week to the Mercy Ship campus, I was struck by all of the anchors. Thankfully it was just emotionally, not physically! I have seen them on previous trips but this time was different. The main purpose of an anchor is to hold a ship in place. A place where it is meant to be. Held fast… Read more →

A little update

I’m blogging from my phone, so it will be a short update! :)

We believe we found a house in Texas and would love to have your prayers. It’s a fixer upper in a great neighborhood. We just pray that if this is the house for us, God would allow the pieces to fall into place and if He has another place for us that doors would be closed.

Much love from us to you!

Until recently, I honestly didn’t know that Habakkuk was a book in the bible. I am not really sure how I have missed this little, yet mighty book. Maybe I momentarily feel asleep while learning that part of the Books of the Bible song. Who knows! But, I have gone back to this verse a lot over the last several months. The Lord replied,… Read more →

spring flowers

Today is the first day of Spring and I am just giddy! I love the season of Spring. The rain. The sunshine. The longer daylight. The new life. There is just something refreshing about Spring. We can shake off the yawns of a dreary Winter. We can put the snow boots away. We can rejoice in the new. Happy First… Read more →

Parent. Spouse. Sibling. Child. Friend. Employee. Helper. This world gives us many titles. So many at times, it can be frustrating and confusing. But what happens when you begin to lose those titles? I struggled with this back in August when I went from stay-at-home-mom to homemaker/work-at-home-mom. I never realized how many people ask you, “So, what are you doing… Read more →

Encouraging Mommas

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of the day I would get to be a mommy! I would lovingly wrap my babies up in a soft blanket and stroll them around the house. As soon as I was old enough, I was babysitting and I loved (almost) every minute of it! Actually getting to be a mom has been one… Read more →

I am horrible with directions! Even with a map I can get lost pretty quickly. I have found myself in the middle of nowhere even while using my GPS. Such an event occurred a few weeks ago when I was helping my mom with Valentine’s Day flower deliveries.  I headed out with some verbal directions on where I was headed,… Read more →

White as Snow

Snow. We’ve had quite a bit of it lately. If I am being honest, a little too much for my liking. But there is something amazing about snow. Tranquility settles in as it falls. The little flakes pile up to cover the ground. And when it stops, we are left with a blanket of white. Pure. Clean. Spotless. Beautiful. It makes me think… Read more →

Name Change

I have talked quite a bit about refocusing and perspective. It has been on our hearts and minds a lot lately. With that time and reflection came our new site name, Walking By Grace.  Because isn’t that what it’s all about? Daily making steps covered by God’s grace. HelpChange. It seemed too ME (or should I say US) centered. We long… Read more →
