We’ve been a bit displaced lately. And while I am extremely thankful for my parents who welcomed us in with open arms, it is tough not having a home.
My devotion this morning spoke to my heart and my situation but more than that it spoke to my soul. Especially this verse:
Zephaniah 3:20(a) “At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home”…says the Lord.
You see, we weren’t made to find a true home here on earth. God blesses us with a roof over our heads and the comforts of life can certainly feel good, but it is all temporary and can’t even begin to compare to the wonders of our real home. Our forever home. With Him in Heaven.
So my longing to be home isn’t a longing that will pass once we are settled in Texas. I pray it never passes, for that would mean I have settled for less and forgotten His promise.
If home is where the heart is, Lord Jesus, fill my heart!
