Inspiration from family & friends

We all have those people in our lives, you know the ones that do something inspirational that hits home with you. For some it’s a childhood hero like superman, batman, etc or an athlete. Well for us, we have had a few people that truly inspired us to think outside the box.  I want to talk about one of them today 😉  And no they can’t fly, but in my opinion they can do something better…

Redburn Family

Redburn Family

Enter, the Redburn family!  A few years back, Ash and Linc decided to do something a bit out of the ordinary.  They chose to adopt from Ethiopia.  I still remember when they decided to do that & the comments Ash told us she got from people.

Well, regardless of the resistance, they pushed onward and now have two awesome boys that were added to their family (Blake and Silas).

Our sweet girls

Our sweet girls

From the beginning we absolutely supported the Redburns, but I have to admit I didn’t “get it” until now….

When I saw this picture of our girls for the first time after we had said YES.  I broke down.  I mean God “punched me in the face” with emotions I didn’t think existed.

Since then I have thought about Ash & Linc’s journey ALOT.  Would we have taken this recent step without having seen them do something amazing in their life?

The point is, when we choose to do something we don’t always think about who it might inspire to do something else.  My sincere prayer with our blog WalkingByGrace.org is that our story inspires someone to get a little fed up with something and make a difference.

Does it have to be an adoption or moving to another country?  Heck no!  But there are a ton of kids, probably even your own nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers, or sisters that need to feel & know the love of Jesus.

There are no words that can express our love for you guys. You have supported us, accepted us unconditionally, and pushed and challenged us to look more like Jesus. I know you all know that, so I won’t go on, but what I can do is give more Glory to God – praise that He knows the big picture, that He has seen each of our stories play out. Praise that He put us together, even when we’re across the world from one another. From the depths of our hearts……..

Ripples… we all make them every day… I’m Lincoln’s mom, and Ashley’s my sweet daughter-in-love. They blessed our family with two wonderful twin boys that are such a joy! Has the road had potholes? Of course! But God led, they followed, and we all are blessed… and just look at the ripples!!! We love and support your family’s journey… and are thrilled with your path!! God will bless you… and my prayer is that, with your encouragement, we ALL make much more conscious decisions as to the direction OUR ripples may lead others!! To God be the glory!!

…YOU are an inspiration Miss Kim! We love you too! This is what I LOVE about God and His works…as long as we’re living for Him, He uses ALL of us…our good and bad. Even the worst situation can encourage someone else. He is good ALL THE TIME!
