After months of preparation, we finally arrived at our leaving date yesterday. There is no need to sugar coat anything – it was HARD! As much as we know we are following what God has asked, it was still hard to say so many goodbyes. We rest in scriptures like this one: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~Philippians 4:7
We had quite the load of stuff to haul into the airport and thankfully we had lots of hands to help.
The airport was incredibly busy yesterday morning and we BARELY made our flight. We got to the gate at 5:57 am and our plane was due to take off at 6:00 am. There were so many people not at the gate that they decided to hold the plane for a few extra minutes. PRAISE GOD!
We got to Miami and headed to our hotel. We had been advised to take a day or two to debrief from all of the goodbyes and enter Honduras on a full tank. As we rested yesterday, we agreed 100% that we needed the down time. We were able to be sad and talk through our feelings.
So thats our journey so far! We are resting up and enjoying some quiet time! We will be leaving Miami tomorrow (Sunday) evening and will reach Honduras around 8 pm (central time). Thank you all for your love and prayers as we traveled yesterday. They mean more to us than words can express!
