I will start with a confession…I love Instagram! I love all of the sweet pictures that fill my feed. I love to keep up with friends and family through their posts and even some sweet momma bloggers that encourage my daily walk.
But, the other day, I was reading through some comments made in response to a Christian lady’s post and I was heartbroken. Hatred and evil filled the comments that tried to rebuke her post. There were comments that flat out stated that God doesn’t exist and others that suggested people who believe in God are just small minded and brainwashed.
I have always known that there are people that don’t believe in God. But to see it so clearly just grieved my soul. How can they say that? Why do they think that? How can I help them?
I would imagine it grieves God, as well.
I can’t fix this issue that has plagued humans since Adam and Eve. But God can. And we can be His hands and feet that continue to show love. Compassion. Kindness. Grace. Even to people that don’t believe, because maybe, just maybe, we will be the ones to lead them to His heart.
For those of you that believe in God, pray for those that don’t yet. There is a real battle for our souls and He doesn’t want anyone to perish. We should feel the same way. We can’t be complacent. We can’t simply sit back and keep quiet. It doesn’t mean we strike back with more hateful words but lovingly share the truth. The redeeming message doesn’t depend on our words, but God’s. It doesn’t depend on our actions, but Jesus’. The truth – grace, forgiveness, love, redemption.
