There goes our stuff

Our stuff

Our stuff

Well we are edging closer and closer to move date.  Last night we finished packing & wrapping all our stuff to be shipped out to Honduras.

My brother Tony helped me drop it all off at St. James Winery.  They have been kind enough to let me ship freight items from their warehouse loading dock down to Louisiana where they at then shipped to Honduras via freight ship.  Peter Hofherr at the winery was nice enough to cover the freight costs to get our stuff to Louisiana….thank you!

In total we have 1,810 lbs of personal belongings left.  Everything else has either been sold, given away, or is temporarily residing at family’s homes. It’s been an interesting experience to say the least and has definitely re-taught us the lesson that “stuff” doesn’t matter in this life.    I love this verse in Matthew which is a constant reminder.

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

Now we plan to leave on May 30th.  Just waiting on a few final details to work out and we will book our one-way flights.   Lots of mixed emotions around that but I’ll save them for another blog post 😉

Have a GREAT day.
